Our first visit was pretty good. We started with the sticky rib appetizer. That was definitely a 10/10. My husband ordered one of their specials which was gumbo. It was advertised to have had chicken, pork and andouille sausage. Unfortunately, when it was served, we went through the entire bowl to find there was exactly zero meat in it. Disappointing for $18 to say the least. My husband sent it back and ordered wings instead. The wings were great too 10/10. I had the pork Bahn Mi sandwich, it was excellent. 10/10. The manager I guess saw the gumbo being returned to the kitchen and she immediately took it off of our bill, and also gave us a complimentary banana pudding to go. The banana pudding was tasty, but waaayyyyy too sweet for us. One bite each was all we could eat. 6/10. Overall, we had a great time. The place reminds me of a 70's bar. The cocktails were good, and all of the staff we encountered were super sweet and helpful. We will definitely be back. The bbq platters looked very good. Oh, just a heads up: they open at 5pm. We got there at 5:15, and they were close to half full already, and this was on a Tuesday! On the weekends, we've seen lines out the door! We've tried to get in on 2 other occasions, but the parking lot was already full and no street parking for more than 3 blocks. I think it's going to be pretty successful.

This place was so cute and the food was amazing!! This is our second time in Atlanta visiting some family and they wanted to show us a new BBQ spot. Absolutely did not disappoint! I'm a huge fan of Asian flavors so I loved the subtle inclusions like cilantro and fish sauce to the dishes. The Asian flavors aren't super pronounced, but if you know it's there you can really appreciate the fusion of it! Highly recommend the brisket (#1 favorite for me), ribs (boyfriend's favorite), and the waffle fries (arguably the best side dish we had during our trip. 11/10 crunchy crispy seasoned fries). Will note that the potato salad was more on the mustardy side if you care at all (I do). Also the drinks and the server were amazing on top of it all. Definitely the spot to try!

Great experience, quirky and eclectic decor, and yummy food! Found the place off an IG recommendation and was excited to try it out. I sense a NOLA theme and I love NOLA. Upon arriving, we saw them smoking some of the meats outside. Inside, we were greeted right away and seated. I ordered the burger and waffle fries and my bf had the platter with brisket, ribs, boudin, potato salad and macaroni. Loved my order! I got the single patty and it was quite filling. Waffle fries had crispy outside and super soft inside. Plus, they were well seasoned. I tasted the brisket and boudin. To me, the brisket was good but my bf thought it was a bit dry. I'm not a fan of boudin anyway, so didn't love that. The potato salad was a surprise. It was much different from what I'm used to, but it works. I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the mac. For dessert, they had two of my faves so we ordered both lol. We had the s'mores bread pudding and banana pudding. While both were great, the banana pudding absolutely stole the show...just as our waitress mentioned! The s'mores bread pudding was really rich, and I tasted more chocolate than anything. I would have preferred it be a bit more wet with distinct graham cracker flavor and marshmallow texture. Overall, still a great experience and I would definitely return!

I went here on Saturday 12/21/2024 for the first time. This place popped up on my feed recently and I saw that they have a delicious banana pudding. The reputation proceeds this entree. I also got a 6pc lemon pepper Wings with blue cheese. My bro got a three meat plate ribs, brisket and chicken with Mac and cheese and potatoe salad. The wings are delicious also the blue cheese.

Some of the best barbecue I've had! A cool spot in east lake. Very casual. Just order at the counter and find a spot. They bring the food out when it's ready. You order drinks at the front counter too. They do also have staff walking around once you are seated if you want more drinks/food/etc so you don't have to go back up to the front counter to order again. We sat on the back patio and it was perfect for a nice fall day. They have a pretty big cocktail menu with quite a few yummy frozen options. We got the frozen marg and the bushwacker. Both were really good! We ordered the pulled pork plate with slaw and Mac as well as an egg roll. The pulled pork was amazing! So flavorful. I loved their take on slaw too! So unique and absolutely delicious. The Mac was super creamy and tasty. I'll be back for the biscoff banana pudding!

Loved this place so much. Don't worry about having a long wait - they come out and take drink orders while you're in line!! It made the line so fun. Once you step inside, the decor is phenomenal. The music is also great. And of course the BBQ was excellent as well. I will definitely be returning!

Saw this place on TikTok and I was immediately hooked when I saw Jell-O shots on the menu! I had no idea what to really expect here, but I think in hindsight there was a method to the madness. This is definitely a casual spot, a good place to stop and have a casual dinner before going out! Gene's gets pretty packed on the weekend and if you plan to come on a weekend there will be a line. However, they have a system to where you wait about 30 minutes in line (if it's packed) and while you're waiting you order your drink in line. I think this was smart and kind of helps pass the time while waiting. Once you get inside , you'll order at the counter! Unfortunately, they were out of some of the items I saw online that I was really excited to try, so I would probably get there earlier if there's something you're eyeing. My friends and I got the two meat plate. The ribs were the star of the show for me. I felt the Brisket could've had a little more flavor, but the sauce options are delicious! I wasn't super impressed with the sides, but they weren't bad! I liked the Macaroni & Cheese the most! I think the portions are good to share with someone else! The star of the show for me was this frozen drink called the "Buschwaker" , it was sweet and had a malt flavor. It was really good!
